Audrain County Release Record Basics
A release is a custody event. It does not, by itself, say that a criminal case ended. Someone may leave the Audrain County Jail after posting bond, receiving a court order, completing a local sentence, or having a charge dismissed. Jail staff may instead transfer the person to another county, the Missouri Department of Corrections, a federal authority, or immigration custody. In that case, the person left the county roster but did not return to the community. The Sheriff’s release event, MOVANS status, and court case together provide a stronger answer than any single source.
Missouri also distinguishes release from full discharge. A person on parole or conditional release has left prison but remains under MODOC supervision. Probation usually results from a court order and may begin without a prison parole decision. Full discharge ends the active corrections relationship. That distinction controls where the record appears: active supervision belongs in the MODOC active-offender system, while a fully discharged record requires the historical Sunshine data or a targeted records request.
Audrain County Inmate Release Types
The category on a release record determines the next check. A bond release leaves the case pending. A court order may authorize release before jail staff complete identity, hold, and paperwork checks. Sentence completion ends the term described by the judgment, but another warrant or detainer can still affect custody. Transfer is not community release. A parole or conditional-release event applies to prison custody and normally leads to field supervision.
| Release type | What it means | Next source |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or recognizance | Pretrial jail custody ends while the case continues | Jail release record and Case.net |
| Court order or dismissal | A judge or case event authorizes release | Case.net plus the physical jail exit record |
| Time served or sentence completion | The ordered local custody term ends | Judgment and Sheriff release record |
| Parole or conditional release | Prison confinement ends while MODOC supervision continues | MODOC active search and field office |
| Transfer or detainer pickup | Another authority takes custody | Receiving county, MODOC, BOP, or ICE |
The Audrain Sheriff’s corrections-officer description confirms that jail staff write and accept bonds, take bail and fine payments, issue receipts, and arrange releases. It does not publish a local bond schedule, accepted-payment list, or processing-time promise. A bond receipt and release record can confirm departure from jail. Neither establishes dismissal or acquittal.
Audrain County Release Record Fields
Audrain does not publish a field dictionary for its jail release record. A precise request should seek the open portions that identify the person and connect the booking to the exit event. The result may contain fewer fields because closure, redaction, or the agency’s record design can limit disclosure. Treat each label as the agency defines it, especially when a destination suggests a transfer.
| Requested field | What it helps establish |
|---|---|
| Name and booking number | Connects the event to the correct jail admission |
| Booking date and time | Marks the start of the local custody episode |
| Release date and time | Marks the recorded county-jail exit |
| Release authority or type | Distinguishes bond, court order, time served, or another basis |
| Destination or receiving agency | Separates community release from transfer |
| Bond or release paperwork | Links the custody event to its authority |
| Supervision information | Shows whether probation, parole, or conditional release follows |
Dates need equal care. An order-entry time, bond-posting time, physical release time, minimum prison-release date, parole date, and supervision-discharge date are not interchangeable. Preserve each source’s label. If they conflict, ask the custodian that owns the event rather than selecting one date without support.
Request Audrain County Release Records
The Audrain County Sheriff records-request form is the direct route for an existing county-jail booking and release record. Give a full name and a date of birth or booking number when known, but do not enter a Social Security number. Ask for records rather than asking staff to research a narrative question. Narrow dates and electronic delivery can reduce search and copy work.
- Identify the person and the approximate booking or release period.
- Request the open booking date, release date and time, release type or authority, public transfer destination, related bond papers, and booking photo if needed.
- Ask for electronic copies and a fee estimate before chargeable work begins.
- If material is closed, ask for the statutory basis and all segregable open portions.
- Compare the response with Case.net, MOVANS, or the receiving custody system.
The Sheriff promises a response by the end of the third business day after receipt. That is an action deadline, not a promise that all records will be produced by then. Payment is due before release of records, and no local fee schedule is published. Missouri law caps ordinary paper copies of the stated size at ten cents per page under the version of section 610.026 effective August 28, 2025, while labor and other media follow statutory actual-cost rules.

Audrain Release Laws and Retention
Missouri’s Sunshine Law guidance explains access under Chapter 610. Section 610.023 requires action as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day. If access is not immediate, the public body should give a detailed reason and the earliest production time. Section 610.100 covers incident and arrest reports, but investigative, juvenile, medical, sealed, expunged, victim, and other protected information may be closed. A request should seek the open, segregable fields rather than assume the whole jail file is public.
Audrain publishes no retention period for an online released roster because no official online release archive was verified. Under the MODOC schedule, Offender Discharge Files remain for 35 years after the end of the calendar year. Court dockets, indexes, and judgments follow separate long-term schedules. Missouri expungement under section 610.140 may close eligible records after a court order and the applicable waiting period. It does not support a promise that every prior copy or booking image disappears.
Find Audrain County Released Inmates
Start with the last known custodian. A person who was recently in the Audrain County Jail follows the Sheriff, MOVANS, and Circuit Court path. A person sentenced to MODOC follows the active-offender or historical-data path. Federal and immigration cases use separate systems. This sequence avoids calling a transfer a release.
- Check the Sheriff’s MobilePatrol route only to see whether the person remains on the current roster.
- Search current MOVANS for an Audrain custody event and confirm the reporting agency.
- Review Case.net for bond, release orders, disposition, sentence, warrants, or probation.
- Call the jail for a narrow current-custody question, then request the documentary release record.
- If a prison sentence or transfer appears, search MODOC. Use BOP or ICE only when that jurisdiction applies.
A name dropping from MobilePatrol is negative evidence. It may reflect community release, transfer, court or medical movement, data lag, or a feed interruption. The Audrain jail releases in 24 hours guide explains the same-day fallback because no official county feed was verified. Exact projected prison dates belong to the separate custody calculation, not the county roster.
Audrain MODOC Released Inmate Search
The MODOC active-offender search covers people currently in Missouri institutions and people on active probation or parole. It expressly does not provide information on discharged offenders. Search by first and last name, consider aliases, and use a DOC number or date of birth to resolve similar names. The assigned place can indicate either an institution or a community-supervision office. Contact that office for a case-specific status rather than expanding a short web row into an unsupported conclusion.
The official MODOC active-offender search page is shown below. Its active-only scope is the key limit.
A missing result can mean a spelling issue, confidentiality exclusion, no MODOC history, or full discharge. It does not prove release from the Audrain jail. For prior and discharged people, MODOC’s nightly Sunshine FAK930 file includes current and former subjects and reaches as early as 1974. Its `$SCF=Y` field indicates a completed sentence, `$PC` is Sentence-I Minimum Release Date, and `$PD` is Sentence Maximum Release Date. The file is working data and may repeat a person across charges, so match by DOC number, name, and birth date, then seek the underlying release or discharge record when exact proof matters.
Audrain Court Release Record Checks
Audrain consolidated its circuit and associate divisions on January 1, 2010, and the county says all cases are filed in Circuit Court. That makes the Audrain Circuit Clerk and Missouri Case.net durable sources after a person leaves the current jail roster. Search by litigant name, filing date, case number, or scheduled hearing. Review bond entries, warrants, docket events, judgment, sentence, and probation. A court entry explains legal authority, while the Sheriff record supplies the actual physical exit time.
The Circuit Clerk is in Room 204 of the Audrain County Courthouse, 101 N. Jefferson Street, Mexico, and can be reached at 573-473-5841 during the published weekday hours. Public courthouse terminals may show public documents that are not remotely attached. Protected party types, sealed matters, and confidential records remain limited. A missing public case is therefore not proof that no custody event occurred.
Audrain County Bond Release Processing
Audrain’s corrections staff accept and record bail and fine payments, issue receipts, write and accept bonds, and arrange releases. This local evidence confirms where bond-out work occurs. It does not establish how long processing takes or which payment methods apply in a specific case. Other holds must also be checked before physical release. A court order and a later jail exit may have different timestamps.
Bond release is pretrial release. Charges can remain pending, and later hearings still matter. Compare the receipt or release event with Case.net instead of describing bond as a final outcome. If MobilePatrol still shows the person after a bond entry, confirm whether processing, another warrant, or a data update explains the gap.
Audrain Inmate Movement Is Not Release
The Sheriff reports about 1,500 bookings in an average year and an average jail population near 70. Those figures show turnover, but not 1,500 unique releases. Repeat bookings and transfers prevent that conclusion. Court Services also reports about 1,250 annual inmate transports covering nearly 47,000 miles. Repeated trips for the same person can be included.
A transfer from the jail to WERDCC, another county, BOP, or ICE removes a person from the current county roster without returning them to the community. Read the destination field, court sentence, and receiving system before naming the event. That is especially important in Audrain, where a county jail and a statewide women’s prison operate under different agencies.
Audrain County Release Supervision
The Missouri Parole Board decides discretionary parole, while MODOC’s Division of Probation and Parole handles field supervision. The active MODOC result may show a supervision district rather than a prison. Public information can include confirmation of supervision, the office, supervision term, conditions, and a parole or conditional-release date, though some case details remain confidential. The supervising officer or office is the best source for a current case-specific answer.
Audrain County’s directory lists Probation and Parole at 573-581-4112 without an address or hours. MODOC lists District 26 Fulton Community Supervision Center at 1397 State Road O, Fulton, with phone 573-592-6840. Audrain County probation and parole records support verification of absconder status and discharge. A person on supervision has been released from confinement but has not necessarily reached full discharge.
Audrain Release Alerts and Federal Checks
Missouri uses MOVANS for custody, court, and protection-order notifications. A major change took effect May 5, 2026. Audrain local-jail users must make a new registration at the current MOVANS portal, and local-jail notices now use SMS text or email. Old phone and VINELink-app local-jail alerts ended. DPS also warns that a failed search may mean a jail is offline. Silence or a blank result cannot prove release.
Federal custody needs a separate check. The BOP Inmate Locator can show “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody,” but BOP warns that another authority may hold the person or that supervision may follow. ICE’s ODLS covers current adult detainees and, under its official guidance, people released from ICE custody within the prior 60 days. No public USMS name search exists. Use the federal docket, BOP, ICE, and targeted agency requests only for the jurisdiction they own.
Getting Home After Audrain Release
OATS Transit’s Audrain service page documents a real but scheduled transportation option. Mexico service operates Tuesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Reservations are taken from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and next-day trips generally must be requested by 1 p.m. Listed one-way fares are $2 within the city and $3 within the county.
OATS does not promise an on-demand jail shuttle or a pickup at the jail gate. Call 660-415-0901 or 800-654-6287 in advance to confirm a stop and time. No sourced late-night ride, release voucher, family waiting area, or exit-door procedure was found. Those details should come from the jail and the transit provider before a release day.
Audrain Release Reentry Pathways
MODOC maintains a reentry center at each state prison, including WERDCC. Reentry work can address identification, transportation, medical care, treatment, clothing, food, and transition needs. An institutional parole officer may prepare a release plan before a person leaves WERDCC, then the applicable field office handles supervision.
in2Action’s current application includes people from Audrain County or with direct Audrain ties among its potential eligibility factors. Program rules and District 6 Probation and Parole approval still apply. An older MODOC guide mentions Turning Point in Mexico and an Audrain Drug Court route, but those details need current verification before use. A historical guide should not be treated as proof that a service is open now.
Audrain County Release Facilities
Audrain County Jail is the principal local detention point at 1100 Littleby Road in Mexico. The Sheriff’s release record, MOVANS, and the Audrain court case are the main confirmation sources. A transfer should be followed into the receiving system.
Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center is a MODOC state prison in Vandalia, not a county-jail annex. Its parole, conditional release, discharge, and transfer events run through MODOC, its institutional and field parole offices, and historical DOC data after discharge. Treating both facilities as one Audrain inmate roster would produce the wrong answer.
